Honored Officers

“WHAT WE DO IN LIFE, ECHOES IN ETERNITY.”…..THE GLADIATOR

This series of “Stories of the Fallen” was created largely from archived Washington Post newspaper articles in order to bring our rich police history to the attention of fellow police officers what_we_do_in_lifeand our community.  It’s purpose is to further honor and memorialize the illustrious members listed here.

These outstanding individuals will live as long as they are remembered…. and it is our duty to remember.

The stories include all those MPDC members who were killed in the line of duty, some of them medal of valor recipients as well as others with notable careers.  Their legacy of heroism, sacrifice, professionalism and dedication should instill a sense of pride in all who wore the badge.

It goes without saying that there are many who had distinguished police careers worthy of mention, but who did not get the newspaper attention needed to create one of these stories.
