Washington DC Metropolitan Police Department (MPD)

The DC Metropolitan Police Department The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is the primary law enforcement agency for the District of Columbia. The MPD has over 4,000 sworn and civilian members serving the city, which is divided into seven Police Districts, each of which is further subdivided into seven or more Police Service Areas (PSAs).

The Fraternal Order of Police

The Fraternal Order of Police is the world’s largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers, with more than 356,000 members in more than 2,100 lodges. They are the voice of those who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving our communities. The FOP committed to improving the working conditions of law enforcement officers and the safety of those we serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement and employee representation.

DC Police Union

The DC Police Union represents the 3,600 officers, detectives, and sergeants who make up the District of Columbia’s Metropolitan Police Department.  DC officers are committed to protecting the residents of Washington — and the union is committed to helping protect our officers.  Representing our officers and fighting to improve their working conditions, the union is fighting for DC to become a safer city.

Association of Retired Police Officers (AORP)

The Association of Retired Police Officer (AORP) represents retired police officers in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. The agencies included are the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), the US Park Police (USPP), the US Secret Service Uniformed Division (USSS/UD), the US Secret Service (USSS) and the US Capitol Police. The organization was chartered in 1935 and the AORP has a long record of assisting and representing retired police officers and their families.

Graham Holdings

Graham Holdings Company (NYSE:GHC) is a diversified education and media company whose operations include educational services; television broadcasting; online, print and local TV news; home health and hospice care; and manufacturing. Chair of the Board, Don Graham, is a former DC police officer and current major supporter of the DC Police Memorial and Museum. 

DC Crime Solvers

The DC Crime Solvers program is part of the National Capital Area Crime Solvers. The NCACS includes police departments in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. Crime Solvers involves a three-pronged attack against crime using the police, the civic and business communities, and the news media. The program publicizes unsolved crimes and wanted suspects and offers an anonymous, toll-free telephone number for individuals to provide the police information about those crimes in exchange for cash rewards.

Washington, DC Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.)

The Washington, DC Chapter of C.O.P.S. provides resources to assist in the rebuilding of the lives of surviving families and affected co-workers of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty, as determined by Federal government criteria. Furthermore, C.O.P.S. provides training to law enforcement agencies on survivor victimization issues and educates the public of the need to support the law enforcement profession and its survivors.

Washington, DC Metro Chapter of NOBLE

The National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) was founded in September, 1976, during a symposium to address crime in urban low income areas.   It’s mission is to ensure equity in the administration of justice in the provision of public service to all communities, and to serve as the conscience of law enforcement by being committed to justice by action. The Washington, DC Metropolitan Area Chapter is one of the most active chapters in NOBLE.

Police Federal Credit Union (PFCU)

The Police Federal Credit Union, headquartered in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, is a full service, not-for-profit, financial institution that has been committed to protecting the financial interests of members of the law enforcement community and serving their financial needs since 1935.  The Police FCU is member-owned and, as a not-for-profit cooperative, any “profits” that the credit union makes are returned to members in the form of lower loan rates, low or no-fee products and services, and higher savings rates. PFCU serves over 12,500 members nationwide and is well established with assets exceeding $165 million.

Washington DC Police Foundation

The DC Police Foundation supports efforts and focus on vulnerable children and neighborhoods. They offer pro-active preemptive programs working hand-in-hand with the community. This is because modern policing requires more sophisticated training and equipment. The DC Police Foundation also assists with the acquisition of more effective technologies.

We are a 501(c)(3) organization operating under EIN 46-1976045; therefore your donations are tax deductible. Because we have no paid staff nearly 100% of your donation goes to help build the Memorial and Museum.
