Donations take us one step closer to crossing the finish line for the completion of the Washington, DC Metropolitan Police Museum. The Museum, located at 441 4th St, NW, Washington, DC (11th floor), will tell the amazing stories of policing in our nation’s capital, honor all those of the MPD who have served and protected it, and preserve our historic artifacts. The DC Police Memorial & Museum is a 501(c)(3) organization operating under EIN 46-1976045 and IRS regulations. Your donations are tax deductible in accordance with IRS regulations.
Shipping is included for domestic shipping. Please allow at least 3 weeks for your gift to arrive.
IMPORTANT – During the donation checkout:
- Be sure to write your complete mailing address (no P.O. Boxes). If you don’t include a mailing address, we cannot send you a coin.
- If you donate $45 (2 coins) or $65 (3 coins), please indicate which coins you prefer. Quantities are limited so donate early in order to receive your preferred coins.

Features a photo of MPD Headquarters in the early 1900s, which was situated at 5th and D Streets, NW. This building is still standing and is currently a Subway sandwich shop. Its top floor with two half moon windows can be seen from the new police museum.

Features an image of one of MPD’s first motorcycles. As vehicle traffic increased, so did the need to be able to move more quickly through the streets and to enforce newly created traffic laws – something the bicycle mounted officers could not do effectively.

Features an image of an officer using a police callbox. By the 1920s these callboxes were present in every district and one each of the city’s patrol beats. Police telephones began appearing as early as 1890, but they were not fully integrated into the footpatrol beats until the early part of the 20th century.

Features an image of the MPD “Voice of Traffic Safety”, a megaphone mounted on a 1930s era Ford, used to patrol the city and admonish bad drivers and address unsafe actions on the roadways.
